The Body Shop

Head-turning campaigns for the original activist beauty brand

Global campaigns | Product copy | Store copy | Manifesto

Whether lobbying to end animal testing or selling fake tan, The Body Shop in-house creative team has been behind some of the UK’s bravest and most controversial high street campaigns. It wanted to revive that original spirit.

Stand up and be counted

As part of a creative team, I smothered myself in body butters, sprayed myself in White Musk and road-tested lipsticks while developing bulletproof concepts for new product launches and iconic heritage lines. Campaigns were launched in thousands of stores around the world and translated into a dozen languages.

It was an exciting period to be there. Under a new creative director, I had the chance to work on a brand repositioning project, rewriting the brand manifesto to reflect a return to a more activist stance. I also authored a ‘no retouch’ policy with the legal team to promote advertising best-practice. All told, we had a lot of fun.
